Anderson County Democratic Women Picnic

On Saturday June 21st, 2014 at Gibbs Ferry Park in Clinton a picnic was held to enjoy good food, good company, and an excellent opportunity to interact with our candidates. The picnic was hosted by the Anderson County Democratic Women. Being the first day of summer, it was a perfect day for it! We enjoyed sunny, albeit hot weather for the majority of the picnic. It was the sunny weather that set the mood for the afternoon.

No one left hungry with the grill cooked hot dogs, potato chips, and cookies. Being East Tennessee, there was sweet tea aplenty to keep us hydrated. Attendees at this event were the young and old alike. Who knows, perhaps some of the younger ones could be the next generation of Democrats in the county? Even the animal kingdom was represented. Jenny the donkey was on hand to have pictures taken with. As the mascot of the Democratic Party, it was only appropriate to have her here as well!

Our many fine candidates running for office in Anderson County were on hand to interact with all who attended. They talked with us about who they are and the vision they have if elected (or re-elected) to office. Each candidate gave a short introduction speech telling those assembled about themselves and what they hope to accomplish if given the job by voters of Anderson County.

We left the event knowing we are all in good hands with the Democratic candidates running for office in our county. This picnic indeed helped put a human face with the name of the person we are voting for.

We want to give a special thanks to the Anderson County Democratic Women for putting this event together, the candidates for their time and dedication, and to all those who took time out of their Saturday to get involved with us.
